The legacy of Sider Engineering S.p.A. — officially incorporated in 2004 — began in 1974, when Ennio Fattori launched his independent venture following a successful career at Danieli & C. Initially focusing on specialized maintenance and installation services for iron and steel mills, the company rapidly leveraged this hands-on expertise to transition into a trusted supplier of machinery and equipment for hot rolling mills.

In its formative years, the company pioneered a highly effective operational model by sourcing pre-owned machinery and completely rebuilding it to meet the precise technical specifications of new industrial plants. This specialized engineering capability allowed Sider Engineering to become a vital partner in emerging markets and developing countries, delivering robust, high-performance manufacturing solutions at an optimized investment level.

Over the years, leveraging the expertise it had developed, the company expanded its range of products and progressively shifted its focus toward enhancing the technological value of its offerings, alongside the design and manufacture of new machinery. This evolution resulted in a comprehensive and diversified range of machinery, varying in scale and technological sophistication, while continuing to deliver solutions that are simple, reliable, and cost-effective.

In 2007, the company acquired Me.p.la Srl, which would become part of the group in 2012.

Furthermore, to support other companies in their growth, in 2025 Sider Engineering S.p.A. became a holding company with a focus on real estate as well.
